That Thing With Feathers: A Couple Stops on the Way Home

With a car guy in the family, we now slam on the brakes when passing a car show.

Must get out and look!!!

That Thing With Feathers

I will explain. My favorite poem is "Hope" by Emily Dickinson.

Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune without the words,

And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;

And sore must be the storm

That could abash the little bird

That's kept so many warm.

I've seen it in the chillest land,

And on the strangest sea;

Yet, never, in extremity,

It asked a crumb of me.

Somehow this has always stayed in my memory, yet now as the world grows more frightening and uncertain, this idea of hope seems to become of increasing importance. Hence, That Thing With Feathers.
