Saturday night was the General Relief Society Broadcast. My stake always displays the fruits of their efforts in their annual Stake service project that night. Each time I go I am overwhelmed by what they have done. If I have not taken the opportunity to contribute I'm kicking myself because I want so badly to have been a part of such a great effort. This year they were tying quilts for the U of U burn unit. I always meant to get involved and did not. So, about 4:00 pm Saturday I think, "Oh no, I know I'll feel terrible for not being a part of this....I can tie a quilt in two hours." Nice! So I happen to have a flannel quilt top already made up from some of TY's grandmothers old fabrics. I did have to piece together a piece of batting however. I get it all up on frames and nearly have it tied by 5:30 and then realize I still need to get dinner on for my family and change and get ready (starts @ 6:00) and I kind of forgot about binding the quilt. Oh well, it was a valiant effort. I did finish it yesterday. Maybe I can still get it to the right person before they are donated. If not, I'm sure someone will want it. Oh and the stake effort was amazing...again. Next year I'm bringing my camera.
