Smile

She's starting to get a little more responsive and give us smiles.  It is the funnest thing.  She's also just beginning to try to "talk" making adorable little sounds.

Tulip Therapy

In the fall I planted lots and lots of red tulips as a preventive measure to stave off any potential for postpartum depression.  I have been feeling really good - most days - but these tulips sure have brightened a few overcast April days.  Maybe I'll get out of the vegetable gardening business and just keep flowers in here year round.  I might have more luck.  Of course, you can't survive off of tulips…..or can you?

Egg Hunt Doubles

This year Grandpa put the kids in pairs for the Easter egg hunt.  The oldest of the cousins helping out the youngest of the cousins.  It seemed to work really well, and lunch was delicious.

Easter Morning

Easter morning!  Hop on over.

Little Miss' first Easter basket.  Full of formula.
She also made her first trip to church to hear her sisters sing in the Easter Sacrament program.  They sang Gethsemane with the other Activity Day girls.  MissC had a solo part.  It was so sweet and beautiful.  The kids were so excited for her to join them at church.

The girls got super posh pencil toppers.

A Silly Socks Birthday

MissL turns 8!  For her birthday she wanted anything penguin and for everyone to wear silly socks.  I thought we could probably get more than just our family to wear silly socks for her.  So I sent out a couple of requests on Facebook and sent a couple emails.  What a fun day.  She was getting silly sock photos texted and posted to her all day.  Friends, family, teachers, long lost relatives.  I hope she felt special.

Blood Moon

Last night I dragged my kids out of bed at 1:45 am to see the lunar eclipse.  It was a rare, "blood moon" as they call it where the moon takes on a red, or in this case kind of copper color.  Call me crazy, but when I heard we were going to have an unprecedented 4 blood moons in the next year and a half, my mind automatically went to D&C 29:14,

"But behold, I say unto you that before this great day shall come the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall be turned into blood, and the stars shall fall from heaven…"

I have to admit, I will be watching these lunar eclipses.  I think they may be one of the many signs of the times that I see all around us.  Pretty interesting.  I look forward with hope to the glorious day of the Lord's coming.  I know He will come.  I have known it and looked forward to it ever since I was a little girl.  (I remember talking about it with friends on the swing set at the playground in elementary school.)  We live in an exciting and frightening time.  I am so grateful for my testimony of Jesus Christ and his gospel, for the Holy Ghost, for the scriptures and for prophets to guide me so that I may endure the trouble that we know will plague the Earth preceding His coming.  I hope and pray that I will, that WE will.  Won't it be wonderful!!

But, I digress……anyhow it was kind of fun standing out in the driveway in the middle of he night with the kids and the binoculars, looking up into the heavens in our pajamas.  Did you see it?

Dating Daddy

Seeing as how I have been somewhat homebound these last weeks and our Friday night, date night has been opened up, Ty has been "dating" the kids.  We figured with all the attention that the new little one was getting, that the bigger ones could use a little one on one.  They have loved it!  I really think it has been good for them, and Ty has enjoyed it also.  I am starting to think I need to get back into the dating scene myself though.  Thanks to Amy!  She came up and gave us a chance to get away together just the other night.  I have missed dating my hubby.

Here is LittleC on his date with Daddy.  His first Jazz game.

Little Miss

The Little Mermaid

One more ballet.  This time it was Ty's turn to join her.  This was such a great gift!  Thank you Santa.  I think she has really enjoyed it.

A Chilly Spring Break

Spring break was downright ridiculous as far as the weather was concerned.  I had to put my pathfinder in 4 wheel drive to make it safely down Crestwood in a snowstorm.  What!?!  Well, we tried to have some fun around town since we weren't ready to travel.  I took the kids to buy donuts and play at the park.  Ty took the kids to fly kites.  We bought the movie Frozen which bought us entertainment for the kids for the whole weekend really.  They love that movie!  Well, 3 of them anyway.  Gman just enjoyed time hanging out with friends which seems to be his activity of choice right now.  Then we took them to the new Aquarium with Grandma and Grandpa and they had a sleepover with them.  A pretty decent staycation I guess.

Cowboys n Cowgirls

MissC's Activity Days group had their annual Daddy Daughter Date and Ty was actually in town this time, so he was excited.  It was a western theme and they looked great.

They danced all night and when they came home they both said their feet were screaming!  Not used to cowboy boots I guess.  To be fair, MissC's are way too small.  For some reason she seems to think she can keep growing.
