Since we'd spent our gas money on the funeral, we pretty much had to stick around for UEA. We thought maybe we'd camp Friday night. I knew Mom was needed to help Phil and Jaime with their kids on Friday, so I figured we could include Curt and Caycee as well. Thursday night we went up and spent a couple hours and dinner with Grandma Campbell. It was a very enjoyable visit. After paying a visit to all of the animals at Phil's, I loaded up 7 kids in my car and headed for home. I was quite concerned about how my car was handling on the freeway. I slowed way down and prayed we make it home safely. Thankfully, we made it without incident. Once home, we enjoyed some yummy movie treats and watched ET. It was so much fun! The kids loved it and at just the right moment when we were about to see the alien in the corn field, Ty jumped at Curt and the whole room erupted in squeels, screams and laughter. It was great! Friday morning I took my car in and discovered my tires were "minutes away from exploding on the freeway". While we were waiting for our new tires, I worked on the dishes and the children played. Then Gman brought LittleC inside. We had a football injury. He was sad and wimpering kind of. I didn't think much of it. He tried to join the girls and do some art, but continued to suffer. So, I took him upstairs to take a look at his shoulder. I couldn't see much, but knew something was wrong. It was very painful for him to get his shirt off. I got him some ice and let him rest. Grandma decided to take a car full of kids home with her and I called Ty to come home as I knew I needed to take LittleC in to instacare. It turned out that his collar bone was broken pretty good. I was amazed! I thought he'd be screaming if something were broken. What a tough kid! Luckily, he didn't need surgery and just has to wear a sling for a month. He was in good spirits all day though, and we decided to meet Grandma and Grandpa and all the kids at the lake for a day of fishing. The kids were so happy to see him and so tender towards him. They had all made him get well cards and had bought him presents. LittleC surprised us again by catching a fish!...One handed! Then he started doing his own casting...one handed and caught another fish! I think he ended up with 3 or 4 fish. In fact, everyone caught fish. We might have had 24 fish all said and done. It was such a good day. I am actually still on a high from such a great week. On paper, however, our UEA week included a funeral, a broken collar bone, a bunch of money spent on tires. It didn't matter that we weren't at Disneyland or somewhere exciting. We were all happy. We had fun together. Everyone treated each other with kindness. Ty was with us and he thoroughly enjoyed the time together as well. I guess it just goes to show what really makes a great time. Huh! Funny!
